PRESS 2024
VERSOPOLIS
Poetry Expo '24
11 February 2024
'Versopolis Poetry Expo '24 celebrated the intricate tapestry of human creativity and literature but also delved deeper into the pressing issues of our time through the universal language of poetry.
More than 90 organisations and individuals from around the world shared projects, insights, and visions for a better world through poetry. The contributions enriched overall understanding, sparked meaningful dialogue, and fostered a sense of global unity.'
My featured poem, ‘How Long?’ addresses the global warming climate crisis in the first stanza and an ensuing possible desert-like scenario as the temperatures continue to rise, the second stanza speaks of our seemingly futile efforts in stemming the depletion of our ocean resources, and the final stanza is about the yearning for peace on this scorched earth (and, consequently, global unity).
The Dove of Peace appears throughout the video because PEACE is a crucial aspect to us achieving global unity and cohesion so that we may work together as one human race to address the other pressing issues like the climate crisis and the ensuing and consequent depletion of our food resources.

“A whipping tongue
scathingly lashes
a false sense of power
failing to reflect
that a tongue portrays
the character
of its possessor!”

"Uma lingua chicoteadora
ataca contundentemente
uma falsa sensacao de poder,
falhando em refletir
que uma lingua retrata
o carater de seu possuidor!"
